We Survived!

So we survived our first family trip. We left for Rockport on Thursday and came back on Sunday. We had a blast! We rented a beautiful house that overlooked Copano Bay. We had our own private fishing pier and the water was literally in our backyard. We ate at great restaurants, went to the beach, and bbq'd. Gavin had a great time. It was so nice to relax. We had lots of help with Gavin and Gabriel even got some fishing in. We are already planning our next family vacation. Enjoy the pictures!

Rockport or Bust!

So we are heading on our first family trip this weekend. We won't be going far, but water, sand and some fishing will be involved. Rockport here we come! We leave on Thursday and come back on Sunday. Gabriel and I are really looking forward to relaxing, eating, and fishing. How do you do this with a 9 month old you ask...You bring back up. When I said family trip, I meant FAMILY trip. My mom, stepdad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, two cousins and a dog will be going too. I can't wait. Lookout Rockport, here come the Mexican Griswalds :)

Gavin's First Easter

Gavin had a wonderful first Easter. We began the day by going to church with Grandma and Grandpa. This was quite and experience since Gavin is at an awkward age where he doesn't really want to be held. He wants to be on the ground getting into everything. However, it was nice to get him dressed up and show him what "Easter" is really about. We also got to spend some time with Gavin's new baby cousin Ari. We then headed to Uncle Danny's for Gavin's first Easter egg hunt. As you can see he was more interested in putting the eggs in his mouth. We ate great food, cracked lots of "cascarones" and had a blast. We can't wait for next year!

Gavin even got into the cascarone fun, but as you can see he didn't like it too much.

I thank God everyday

I have added a link on the side of the blog, Praying for Stellan. When you have some time please click on it and read about the incredible journey this mom is on with her son. I thank the Lord everyday that Gavin was born healthy and continues to thrive on a daily basis. We are so fortunate and sometimes I think we take health for granted. I have started to read a lot of "mom" blogs since I became one and this story is truly touching. I have added Stellan to my list of prayers. Please do the same :)

9 Months Old!

Gavin is 9 months old. Wow, I can't believe we have made it another two months. He is getting so big. Gavin still only has two bottom teeth, but those pesky top ones are coming. He has been drooling like crazy and we have had a few sleepless nights. The doctor looked at them on Thursday during his check up and said they are about to break through. My poor baby. All I can do is keep giving him Tylenol and cold things to gnaw on. Gavin is officially crawling. No more "worm" crawl. He is getting faster by the day. He is also pulling himself up on anything he can reach. We have had a few falls, but everyone has said that is expected, especially when you have a boy. I have already been warned about boys falling, being dirty and putting things up their nose. Boy, do I have some fun to look forward to :)

We went for his 9 month check up and he is doing great. We have stopped the medicine for his acid reflux and all of the symptoms seem to be gone. They told me he would outgrow it and sure enough he did. We are starting him on more table food and he has yet to turn away anything. His favorites seem to be avocado, macaroni, cottage cheese, mango, nectarines, Mexican rice, and potatoes. He does great with a sippy cup and wants nothing to do with the bottle during the day. Here are his 9 month stats:

Weight- 24 lbs. 9 oz. (95th percentile)
Height- 29 inches (75th percentile)

He is a big boy!

Let's go for a walk

We are very fortunate to live near a wonderful lake with a great walking trail. I take Gavin almost everyday (weather permitting). He absolutely loves being outside. The lake has tons of ducks which he has recently begun to notice. We recently splurged and bought a jogging stroller. For all you moms out there, I highly recommend this purchase. The tires are a lot like bicycle tires so the ride is smooth on almost any surface. Here is a pic from one of our daily walks at Woodlawn Lake :)
