California Baby

I was recently at a friend's baby shower and she received a wonderful gift basket of California Baby bath products. All the mom's were raving about these products so I decided to check them out myself. They sell some of the products at Target, but their website has a huge array of all kind of necessities for babies and toddlers. I bought the lavender bath wash and it was absolutely wonderful. The smell is wonderful! The products are made with all natural and organic ingredients and they are perfect for babies and kids with sensitive skin. I can't wait to try their sunblock this summer. Gavin is now a California Baby!

Did someone say Crafty?

Okay, so I'm definitely not what you would call crafty or creative. Let me just say that over the last few weeks I have really ventured out into the "craft world". I have gotten so many cute ideas from other mom's blogs. It started with my Easter cupcakes that I totally stole from my blogging buddy Andrea. They were super easy and turned out super cute. Next on my list was making a chalkboard for Gavin. I went to Home Depot and bought some chalkboard paint. This stuff is awesome. I painted our pantry door with two coats and then nailed some wood trim around it to frame it out. It turned out great! Now Gavin has something to keep him occupied while I cook dinner. My next venture is going to be making Gavin "barnyard bash" themed cupcakes for his 2nd birthday party. The research has already begun and I have some great ideas.

Okay, so I am totally obsessed with Etsy. It started a few weeks ago when I decided to look for some cute birthday party invitations for Gavin's upcoming 2nd birthday. Not only have I purchased his invitations there, but I have also bought him labels for all of his cups and tupperware containers (these come in handy when your child goes to school since EVRYTHING has to be labeled) and a monagrammed lunch box. I am now on the search for a cute monogrammed nap blanket that I can send to school with him. If only my husband knew how much money I was spending without even leaving home :)

Should We or Shouldn't We?

We have a new addition to our family. My cousin Marissa gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Thursday, April 1. My cousin had her first baby 11 months after Gavin was born so she is definitely going to have her hands full. I took Gavin to the hospital yesterday to meet his new cousin and he did great. He was very interested in the baby and even wanted to hold him. I couldn't help but wonder about adding a new sibling to our family. Holding a newborn definitely brings make memories and I know Gavin will be an excellent big brother. Gabriel and I are in the "talking" stage right now so stay tuned....
